After being sent off for confronting a fan alleged to have racially abused him, Rayo Majadahonda keeper Cheikh Sarr has received a two-game ban. At the start of Saturday’s game against Ponferradina, the Spanish third-tier team showed their displeasure with the ruling.

Knee sprain to keep Godín out for the next two weeks

Diego Godín visited the FREMAP Clinic in Majadahonda to have his injured knee assessed. The Atlético centre-back was accompanied by Doctor Villalón. The tests concluded that Godín has suffered a Grade I sprain to one of the ligaments inside his left knee. He was able to leave the clinic on foot and unaided, but he will be unable to return to first team action for at least a fortnight.
